The Mimram brothers took over the Lamborghini company in July 1980, and established the Nuova Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini. The new owners started production of the Lamborghini LM002 off-road vehicle and also replaced the Lamborghini Silhouette with the Lamborghini Jalpa.
The new Lamborghini Jalpa featured a restyled body design and bigger 3.5-litre V8 engine delivering 250 hp. The new engine offered far superior driving comfort, and compared with the Countach, Lamborghini Jalpa was also more efficient in everyday use.
Jalpa was one of Lamborghini’s best selling models. Between 1981 and 1988, 420 cars were built. Lamborghini Jalpa was the last V8-engined Lamborghini.
