Charlie Croker (Michael Caine) has just got out from the prison when he already has a new job in sight. The plan is to steal millions of dollars worth of gold from an armored truck. The heist would take place in the centre of Turin during a major traffic jam. The armored truck has a police escort and that’s not the only risk. The Italian mafia isn’t going to just stand by when a foreigner plans to steal a truckload of Italian’s gold. Croker puts up a team to make the heist and heads to Italy with three Minis, a Land Rover, a bus and three fast cars, including two Jaguar E-Types and an Aston Martin DB4.
Mad Max movie paints a very dark picture of a near future (from the 1979 point of view), where highways have become an unsafe place. Members of a motorcycle gang terrorize roads outsize the city and bad accidents happen every now and then. Police patrol units are still trying to keep the control of the roads, and one of their best drivers is Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson). The fight between the police and the motorcycle gang is fierce, and it doesn’t end without casualties. After Max loses his co-worker and friend, he wants to quit and spend time with his family. But after another personal lost, Max returns to payback to a motorcycle gang and its leader, the man known as the Toecutter.
Cannonball Run is a race across United States, driven on open roads. To win this race you have to drive fast, but even more important is to disguise yourself and your car so that you won’t get pulled over too many times by the law enforcement. Therefore the CannonBall Run starting line includes a Dodge ambulance, two priests in a Ferrari, an Aston Martin DB5 with some James Bond gadgets and a Subaru equipped with night vision system, among others. They all have a plan how to distract the police. J.J. McClure (Burt Reynolds) and his mechanic counterpart, Victor Prinzim (Dom DeLuise) think they can drive an ambulance with the emergency lights on all the way to the finish line. Blake (Dean Martin) and Fenderbaum (Sammy Davis Jr.) are dressed up as priest, while Jill (Tara Buckman) and Marcie (Adrienne Barbeau) in a black Lamborghini Countach are counting on their feminine charm, if they get pulled over.
In Ronin, a group of former soldiers and intelligence agents are hired to steal a heavily armored suitcase. The owners’ of the suitcase don’t want to give it up easily, so a plan is made to ambush their convoy on the road. Although the ambush is successful, the group fails in its mission as one their members has a plan of his own. Gregor (Stellan Skarsgård) steals the suitcase and tries to get rid of the rest of the group members. After Sam (Robert De Niro) and Vincent (Jean Reno) go after Gregor to get the suitcase back, it turns out that there are more people who are interested of getting their hands on the suitcase.
Jim Douglas (Dean Jones) is a race car driver whose career is going down. As he once was racing with Maseratis and Lamborghinis, all he gets to drive now are destruction derbys, if even that. Jim is living with his mechanic friend Tennessee Steinmetz (Buddy Hackett) at the old firestation in San Francisco. One day at the town Jim is doing a little window shopping at the luxurious sports car dealership when he comes across with a VW Beetle. On Jim’s budget this is pretty much the only car that he can buy at the moment. On the road Jim is having some trouble with the car. It doesn’t always want to go where Jim is going. However, Jim thinks that these problems are caused by mechanical failures, which can all be fixed.
LAPD officer Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) is sent undercover to investigate street racers in Los Angeles. His job is not to give tickets for speeding, but to find out who’s been hijacking trucks and stealing their valuable cargo. The hijackers were driving three Honda Civics and evidende suggests that they might be street racers. Everything in street racing is happening around Dominic Torretto (Vin Diesel) so to find the hijackers, Brian has to get close to him. And the best way to do this, is to take part in street racing.
Martin Penwald (Kris Kristofferson) is driving through the Arizona desert with his Mack truck. Martin, who is known by the cb handle “Rubber Duck”, and two fellow truckers, Pig Pen and Spider Mike get pulled over for speeding by Sheriff Lyle Wallace (Ernest Borgnine). Rubber Duck and Sheriff Wallace have a long history together, as Wallace was the first one to give ticket to Rubber Duck. A while later they all end up in the same bar, where a fight starts between truckers and police officers after Wallace threatens to arrest Spider Mike. Rubber Duck, Spider Mike, Pig Pen and few other truckers involved in a fight go on the run and head to New Mexico to avoid prosecution. Six trucks lead by Rubber Duck across the state line and little by little the convoy starts to build up longer and longer. However Sheriff Wallace is not going to give up and decides to stop Rubber Duck no matter what.
Police Lieutenant Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen) from the San Francisco Police Department is asked for a special assingment by politician Walter Chalmers (Robert Vaughn). There is an important hearing on organized crime coming next monday, and Chalmers wants Bullitt to look after his important witness over the weekend. This simple assingment turns out to be much more complicated when the witness gets killed while in while in police protection and Chalmers wants to blame it on Bullitt. Now Bullitt has to start his own investigations to find out who the witness really was and why he was killed.
Frank Martin (Jason Statham) runs a special kind of transportation service. Just give him the size and weight of the package and the destination, and Frank will deliver it with his BMW. The price of the delivery may be a bit higher than with the normal parcel service, but Frank asks no questions. Therefore his services are quite popular among those who don’t want to reveal the content of the package. No names, never look in the package, never change the deal and delivery on time. These are Frank’s rules and as long as things go by these rules, everything is fine. That is, until he gets to deliver a package that makes him to break his rules. And suddenly Frank is mixed up with illegel people smuggling and has to deal with the police and the gangsters.
After 30 years in prison, Ronnie Purnell (Dennis Hopper) finally gets out. Now he wants to settle the score with the man who put him there, but first he needs to find his classic Pontiac GTO, which he had before he was put in. Ronnie’s son Aaron (Will Patton) thinks that his father is just another ex-con and don’t want to have anything to do with him. However Aaron’s son Matthew (Chris Carmack) is anxious to meet his grandfather and comes to meet Ronnie at the prison gate. Matthew wants to help Ronnie and to together with Matthew’s sexy mechanic/girlfriend JJ Cruz (Nadine Velasquez) they start to track down the old GTO.
