Road Test: 2010 Audi Q7 3.0 V6 TDI Clean Diesel

It’s not just the size, eventhough with over five meters of length and over two meters of total width, the Q7 looks a bit oversized at least by european standards, but Q7 looks really good at the parking lot. The exterior is full of details that catch your eye. Big singleframe front grill, Xenon headlights surrounded by LED daytime driving lights, LED indicators in the front bumper and LED tail lights integrated to the tailgate. Twin exhaust tailpipes are lurking under the rear bumber and inside the extended wheel arches there are filled 19″ alloy wheels, which in this case, doesn’t look very big. Dark brown metallic colour is called Teak and it works great in this big car. Dark brown is a nice change instead of the more usual black or silver paint.

Road Test: 2010 Volkswagen Golf GTD

If you want Volkswagen Golf with a GTI looks and diesel engine, then your choice is GTD. GTD has sport bumpers, black grille with GTD logo, tinted rear lights, rear spoiler, chromed exhaust pipes, 17″ light alloy wheels and it is lowered by 15 mm compared to the standard model. With all these details even the diesel engined Golf looks like a much sportier car. Actually, the only differences between GTD and GTI are the grill trims, which are red in the GTI and chromed in the GTD. Another thing what makes a difference between these two cars are the dual exhaust pipes, which are side by side in the GTD. While in the GTI they are on different sides of the car. Last and probably the hardest detail to notice are the brake calibers, which are red in the GTI and boring steel grey in this GTD. Well, all you need to fix this is a paint can. Otherwise these two cars look very much alike. Inside the car there are sporty front seats with the classic Jacky-pattern. The ceiling is upholstered in black cloth, and in the doors and in the dashboard there are black striped trims. The three-spoke GT steering wheel is leather-upholstered, as well as the shift knob and the handbrake handle.

Road Test: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E 350 CDI 4Matic

Mercedes-Benz new E-class is now available also with 4Matic which is Mercedes term for their all-wheel-drive system. Timing couldn’t have been better, because new E-Class 4Matic arrives in Finland same time with the best winter for many years. Meaning there is a lot of snow and freezing weather to keep the roads just nicely slippery. You couldn’t wish for a better situation to test the capabilities of the new four-wheel drive. In the morning there is light snow cover on top of the car, so once again I have to clean the car from the snow. Task which have become a bit too familiar this winter. But for some reason, this doesn’t bother me today at all. Maybe it’s because soon I will get the taste of the new E-class 4Matic.
