Louis Renault

Louis Renault was born in 1877, in Paris, France. He was the fourth of six children of Alfred and Berthe Renault. Their father Alfred was a successful button manufacturer and fabric merchant. Louis Renault was fascinated by engineering and mechanics from an early age. At the family’s country home in Billancourt, outside Paris, he converted its garden shed into his first workshop.

Corvette Stingray’s LT1 delivers 460 horsepower

The 2014 Corvette Stingray’s all-new LT1 6.2-litre V8 engine is SAE-certified at 460 horsepower (343 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 465 lb-ft of torque (630 Nm) at 4,600 rpm, with the available performance exhaust system. With the standard exhaust, the numbers are 455 horsepower (339 kW) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm). They are the highest standard power ratings ever for the Corvette, delivered with efficiency that is expected to exceed 26 mpg on the highway.
