2013 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG available also with 4Matic four-wheel drive

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG is the first AMG model to present the new AMG design philosophy. Predominant elements are the AMG “twin blade” radiator grille in silver chrome and the so-called “A-wing”. The new, three-dimensional air deflector spans the entire width of the AMG front apron, presenting the stylised “A” which is a hallmark of AMG vehicles. The “A-wing” painted in the car’s exterior colour with a trim strip in silver chrome provides the backdrop for three large cooling air intake openings. On the side air intakes, black flics provide for an ideal inflow of air into the cooling modules, while at the bottom a front splitter painted in the car’s exterior colour helps to reduce lift. Convex and concave surfaces dynamically combine the new front end of the E 63 AMG featuring a sculptural design with the distinctive flared wings on which “V8 BITURBO” lettering alludes to the superior engine power on board.

Road Test: 2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK 220 CDI 4Matic

It is strange how small changes in exterior can have a big impact on the car’s appearance. The updated Mercedes-Benz GLK looks all-new, although basically only things that have changed are the lights. Both the headlights and rear lights have been restyled. Beneath the new headlamps are the LED daytime driving lights, which are standard in the GLK. At the rear, GLK has new rear lights and a new underguard, which is optionally available in chrome. The chrome-plated tailpipes integrated to the rear apron are a standard feature. In addition, the roof rails have a new design and there are also new wheel designs in sizes 17, 18 and 19 inches available for the updated GLK.

Road Test: 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 250 BlueTec 4Matic

When it comes to the fuel economy, the star of the show is the new ML 250 BlueTec. Mercedes-Benz’s 2.2-litre turbodiesel has been seen in many Mercedes model series and now it has found its way to the new ML. The four-cylinder diesel sure is economical. The combined fuel consumption of the ML 250 BlueTec is just 6,0 l/100km. The CO2 emissions are only 158 g/km. These are pretty remarkably numbers for a big SUV with a four-wheel drive. On the test drive, the average fuel consumption was little over seven litres per hundred kilometres.

Road Test: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E 350 CDI 4Matic

Mercedes-Benz new E-class is now available also with 4Matic which is Mercedes term for their all-wheel-drive system. Timing couldn’t have been better, because new E-Class 4Matic arrives in Finland same time with the best winter for many years. Meaning there is a lot of snow and freezing weather to keep the roads just nicely slippery. You couldn’t wish for a better situation to test the capabilities of the new four-wheel drive. In the morning there is light snow cover on top of the car, so once again I have to clean the car from the snow. Task which have become a bit too familiar this winter. But for some reason, this doesn’t bother me today at all. Maybe it’s because soon I will get the taste of the new E-class 4Matic.
