Porsche increases Boxster manufacturing

Starting today, the new Porsche Boxster cars are also manufactured at Volkswagen plant in Osnabrück. Moving the production partially to Osnabrück was necessary, as Porsche’s main factory in Stuttgart doesn’t have enough capacity to cope with demand. In Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen the new Porsche 911 and the new Boxster are being made in a mixed model operation on one production line. The first vehicle to roll off the line was an Indian red Boxster S with a black soft top.

The new Cayenne Diesel S is the most powerful diesel engined Porsche

Porsche is launching its most powerful diesel model. The new Porsche Cayenne S Diesel is powered by a 4.2-litre eight-cylinder biturbo engine. It produces 382 hp (281 kW) and offers a maximum torque of 850 Newton metres. This drives the new Cayenne S Diesel to top values in both dynamic performance and efficiency. Sprint from zero to 100 km takes 5.7 seconds, and the top speed is 252 km/h. Still its NEDC fuel consumption is just 8.3 litres per 100 km (CO2: 218 g/km). One factor contributing to this excellent value is the auto start/stop function; the new model is the world’s only SUV with a diesel V8 to offer this functionality.

Porsche Exclusive offers a new power enhancement kit for the 911 Carrera S

Porsche Exclusive now offers a new power enhancement kit developed for the 911 Carrera S. It focuses specifically on the dynamic properties of the sports car. It boosts the power of the 3.8-litre boxer engine from 400 hp (294 kW) to 430 hp (316 kW), producing even better driving performance. Thanks to this Powerkit, the 911 Carrera S Coupe only needs 4.0 seconds to sprint from zero to 100 km/h with PDK in Sport Plus mode. The kit also increases the top speed by four km/h to 306 km/h with PDK and to 308 km/h with a seven-speed manual gearbox. However, the enhanced power has not affected fuel economy. Fuel consumption values in the NEDC are unchanged despite a power increase of over seven per cent.
