Offroad look for GLK with Cobra accessories

Mercedes-Benz GLK gets a thoroughbred offroad look with the stainless steel accessories from the Cobra Technology & Lifestyle. The 60 mm thick stainless steel bar has been designed in such a way that it is energy-absorbing. The flexibly mounted bar thus complies with the limiting values of the stringent EU directives concerning pedestrian protection. The front of the new Mercedes can also be enhanced with the Cobra Cituguard front element which is also fabricated from high-gloss stainless steel. The 48 mm thick accessory is fixed on the bottom side of the series bumper.

Road Test: 2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK 220 CDI 4Matic

It is strange how small changes in exterior can have a big impact on the car’s appearance. The updated Mercedes-Benz GLK looks all-new, although basically only things that have changed are the lights. Both the headlights and rear lights have been restyled. Beneath the new headlamps are the LED daytime driving lights, which are standard in the GLK. At the rear, GLK has new rear lights and a new underguard, which is optionally available in chrome. The chrome-plated tailpipes integrated to the rear apron are a standard feature. In addition, the roof rails have a new design and there are also new wheel designs in sizes 17, 18 and 19 inches available for the updated GLK.

2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK

The body of the GLK combines classic elements of all-terrain vehicles with the design idiom of the current Mercedes-Benz saloons. Short overhangs, the upright front end, slender roof pillars, a steep windscreen and the taut roof line are typical features of an off-roader. There is no longer any differentiation between different types of bumpers with specific on-road and off-road packages. Beneath the newly designed headlamps, all models offer LED daytime driving lights in a chrome clasp as standard. The radiator grille with two slats and central star follows the design idiom of all current passenger car models.
