At first look the Volvo V40 and Volvo V40 Cross Country might look very much the same, but there are some major differences between these two cars. While the V40 has almost completely body-coloured exterior, the new Cross Country comes with contrasting front and rear bumpers and side sills. In the Cross Country, there is also a bit different looking honeycomb mesh grille at the front. Other exterior details include the black mirror housings and roof rails. Cross Country also comes as standard with the bigger wheel size. The exterior styling can be upgraded with side scuff plates or rear diffuser and skid plate. The big panoramic sunroof is also available as an option. A really useful option in the winter weather is the heated front windscreen.
The competition in the premium hatchback segment is only getting tougher as Volvo brings out its new V40 model. The V stands for Versatile, and so far the V-models have all been wagons. Naming this new car as V40 is a bit confusing as earlier Volvo had the V40 wagon in its lineup. However, this all-new Volvo V40 hatchback is soon on the market and it has allready build up expectations to do well in the market, as it is going to replace the current S40 and V50 model ranges.
